Barnyard Worship

Though most people see barns as convenient places to store farming equipment, animals, or hay, a growing number of spirit-filled folk in the rural reaches of America feel right at home attending Sunday services in a structure designed to house tractors. Typically referred to as "cowboy churches", farmers, ranchers, and even rural-riding motorcycle enthusiasts feel more at home in a barn than they do in a cathedral. Though many of these barns have been renovated with heating, air conditioning, and seating, "barn goers" feel they still possess that barnyard charm and help tie worship with the simple life of hard work, dedication to family, and serving their Creator. Outsiders may not feel that a barn is a proper place to have a church, but many parishioners in cowboy churches across the country may respond to such a sentiment with, "If a barn was good enough for baby Jesus, it's good enough for us."
